Some of the best healthy snacks and products from the 2019 South by Southwest Health and Wellness Expo in Austin, TX. Spanning two days, this event brings together some of the best upcoming fitness, beauty, and food brands in the health and wellness space.
The Wellness Expo is one of my favorite South by Southwest events. It features amazing, holistic companies, has tons of free samples of the best healthy snacks, and best of all, it’s FREE! By walking around and checking out the different booths, you get to learn about incredible brands and products and leave with dank goodie bags. Getting to go around trying out healthy, delicious cookies, cauliflower crust pizza, massage chairs, and nut milk lattes? YES PLEASE.
Out of the hundreds of brands featured this year, here are a few of the best healthy snacks and wellness products:
(Clockwise from top left)
–Siren Protein Bites: you would not believe these little protein babies are plant based; they honestly taste like dessert. With flavors like cookie dough and birthday cake, lemon poppyseed was my favorite by only a small margin.
–Cheddies Cheddar Cheese Crackers: TBH, I got these for my boyfriend because I don’t really do dairy…but, everyone who tried them raved about them, so TBD to see what he thinks…
–Partake Foods Mini Cookies: I definitely sampled every single flavor. There were 5 flavors. I ended up with 7 boxes. I’m not usually a huge fan of packaged gluten-free cookies, but truly, these were so good and legit tasted like Chips Ahoy.
–Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patches: I’ve seen these at Neiman Marcus!!! They are basically tiny, clear patches that you use to cover your acne during the day to make it more discreet! Have yet to try, but could be revolutionary
–Only by Nina Fitzgerald: This brand has a 7 ingredient hair conditioner formula that also works as a hand lotion. It basically recreates the awesome 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioners that kids use, but that’s acceptable and actually beneficial for adults.
–Activate Austin Bath Salts: Activate Austin specializes in energy healing, meditation, and other spiritual classes. Their bath salts and bath bombs are a great way to relax right in the comfort of your own tub…
–Standard Process Supplements: The little E-Z Mg packet contains magnesium, recommended for use before bed since magnesium calms and lowers cortisol levels. The “General Health” packet in the picture is also from Standard Process and contains omega-3 fatty acids and other vitamins/minerals good to take on the reg.
–Primal Kitchen Collagen Protein Bars: You may be familiar with Primal Kitchen’s powdered collagen, but these protein bars actually incorporate 7.5 g of collagen in them, making it easier than ever to keep your skin, hair, and nails strong. Primal Kitchen also make amazinggg Paleo salad dressings worth buying
–Honest Hazel Under Eye Patches: These gel under-eye patches are a miracle worker for bags, dark circles, and lines. You can find them at Wren and Wild, a retailer that specializes in clean beauty products.
–Four Sigmatic Matcha Latte: If you haven’t heard of Four Sigmatic yet, you probably will soon. Their adaptogenic mushroom drink mixes may sound odd at first, but they honestly taste fantastic. The mushroom mixes have tons of benefits and make great coffee-alternatives. See my post on adaptogens here.
–Natalie’s Juice Company: Juices not pictured, but they did give me 2 pens because my name is Natalie. I felt they needed to be featured because their cold-pressed juices were some of the most refreshing and tasty I had all day and they clearly chose a great company name;)
That wraps up some of my favorites from the SXSW Wellness Expo!
